 DavysKeyCaps is a font of characters meant to reproduce the "look" of keys
on the IBM and Macintosh extended keyboards. It is intended primarily to
aid in software documentation. The "big" version sacrifices geometric
integrity for legibility at small sizes. In addition, all characters are
drawn in all caps, rather than in an arbitrary mix. To show any alphabetic
key, press the uppercase letter of your choice. All the numeric and other

 After trying several type spec templates and shareware programs, I created
aIdeal template combining elements of the better ones I saw. The template
enclosed contains 2 pages and have paragraph samples in different sizes for
plain, bold, italic and bold italic, and contain the entire alphabet with
extended characters. Also includes 3 line leading variations. Templates are
enclosed for both Pagemaker 4.0 and QuarkXpress 3.0, since people like
either one or the other! Both work on the principle that changing one style
sheespecification will change text in all text boxes on the page. The
template is designed to be hole punched for a 3-ring binder, if you wish.
This is freeware, it may be distributed as you wish.

loaded at the request of the author. The fonts have every other character

new possibilities for users of Finale, Professional Composer, and other
music notation packages, particularly in terms of tempo markings, harp

 Lassus, a type 1 font similar in execution to the first music printing with
musical type, c. 1500. But the notation is modern, i.e. post-1600. Every
character has a segment of 5-line musical staff onto which notes,
clefs, rests, accidentals and dots have been put so that a simple musical
example in whole notes, halves, quarters or eighths (or any combination)
can be typed without the necessity of quitting to a drawing program or
notation program. It looks beautiful for single-line examples, but of
course it's not intended for serious musical notation. The font is
absolutely free.

 TrueType version of Lassus, a font for quick, simple musical examples.
Like mid-sixteenth century music engraving, each character of this font
contains a segment of five-line musical staff variously stamped with
clefs, notes, accidentals, etc. The staff lines in the TrueType version
tend to look uneven on screen, but will print lined up on a suitable
printer at the appropriate resolution. The font is free.

letters in the middle of intricate floral designs and are not surrounded by

each letter.  This font needed three fonts to hold all the PostScript code,
and loses detail below 72 points.  Also, using several characters on a
single page gives my printer fits, so it must be used sparingly. This font

 Shalom is a fairly complete Hebrew typeface.  It is, however, just another
font as far as the Mac is concerned.  The standard American Macintosh is
not really set up for an alphabet that reads from right to left.  Anyone
using this font will find themselves composing Hebrew text “backwards,” or
left to right.  Sorry, there’s not a whole lot I can do about it.  If you
really need a Hebrew font that writes in the right direction, you probably
want something else.  Try some commercial places.  A company called Davka
based out of Israel has received high praise from others, but I know
nothing about them personally.

Harrington is full of curves, and is great for fancy love notes. Please
